Role Description The Fitter/Welders role is a full-time, on-site position based in Pocatello, ID. In this role, the team member will fit, assemble, and weld steel components for Buckling Restrained Braces according to drawings, specifications, and quality requirements. Day-to-day tasks include interpreting blueprints, preparing materials, performing precise welds, verifying measurements, and inspecting completed work for accuracy and structural integrity. The role involves operating welding and cutting equipment, maintaining a clean and safe work area, following established safety procedures, and collaborating with supervisors and coworkers to meet production deadlines. The Fitter/Welders will also assist with basic equipment maintenance and contribute to continuous improvement efforts in fabrication processes. Qualifications Proficiency in welding processes (such as MIG, TIG, or flux-cored) and safe operation of related tools and equipment. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and welding symbols with strong attention to detail. Skilled in fitting, measuring, and layout of steel components using appropriate hand and power tools. Knowledge of fabrication shop safety practices and commitment to maintaining a safe working environment. Previous experience as a fitter, welder, or in structural steel fabrication is strongly preferred. Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate weights, and work in an industrial environment. Strong teamwork, communication, and time-management skills, with reliability in meeting production goals. Relevant welding certifications or training and a high school diploma or equivalent are beneficial.
