Overview

A Group Lead is a working leader responsible for guiding a team while performing similar tasks to those under their leadership. They assist the Production Manager with business responsibilities and ensure production objectives and quality standards are met.

Responsibilities

  • Provides work instruction and prioritizes work of their team.
  • Coordinates and monitors the workload and flow of all technicians.
  • Trains employees on company work methods and skills development.
  • Serves as first level technical escalation for area technicians.
  • Escalates issues to management as necessary.
  • Prepares, builds, and tests products.
  • Assists with skill assessment during the hiring process.
  • Administers performance assessment processes.
  • Assists with new process development.
  • Assembles, repairs, and calibrates units to meet specifications.
  • Conducts tests and inspections of products and processes.
  • Reads work orders and specifications to determine testing procedures.
  • Tests functional performance of systems under specified conditions.
  • Trims and prepares components as specified.
  • Uses various equipment for testing and assembly.
  • Performs or inspects component replacement and rework.
  • Reads and works from drawings and schematics with limited supervision.
  • Connects components to test instruments and activates test equipment.
  • Examines components for defects and records findings.
  • Analyzes and troubleshoots test results on defective units.
  • Adjusts, repairs, or replaces electronic components as needed.
  • Explains assembly testing procedures to other workers.
  • Maintains employee records and administers disciplinary measures.
  • Maintains effective dialogue with employees to foster morale.
