Overview
The AWS D1.1 Structural Welder is responsible for welding structural steel components in accordance with AWS D1.1 Structural Welding Code while meeting safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform structural welding using SMAW, FCAW, GMAW (MIG), or GTAW (TIG) as required.
- Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and fabrication drawings.
- Set up and operate welding equipment safely and efficiently.
- Weld structural steel in flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions.
- Follow approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS).
- Inspect and repair welds as needed.
- Maintain a safe and clean work area.
- Work with fitters, inspectors, and supervisors to meet production schedules.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Current AWS D1.1 Welder Qualification or ability to pass qualification test.
- 2–5 years of structural welding experience preferred.
- Ability to read blueprints and welding symbols.
- AWS D1.1 structural welding skills.

- Teamwork and communication skills.
Additional Information
- Lift up to 50 lbs.
- Stand, bend, kneel, climb, and work at heights as required.
- Work overtime or weekends when necessary.
