Overview

Volt is immediately hiring for a Mig Welder in Groveport, OH. The position involves welding carbon outlets onto steel pipes for the fire sprinkler industry and performing various welding tasks.

Responsibilities

• Weld carbon outlets onto steel pipe for the fire sprinkler industry.
• Perform welding tasks including spool pieces, flanges, and related components.
• Conduct manual GMAW (MIG) welding on carbon steel pipe and fabricated assemblies.
• Inspect work for defects, dimensions, alignment, end preparations, and seam splits in pipe.
• Repair weld discontinuities and failed welds.
• Read and interpret production paperwork and work instructions.
• Use tape measures and basic measuring tools to verify product dimensions.
• Report equipment malfunctions, repair needs, and safety concerns promptly.

Requirements

• Experience of Mig (GMAW) Welding.
• Experience of machine operation.
• Knowledge of computers.
• Experience of reading and using a tape measuring.
• Experience of welding carbon steel pipes.
• Experience in pipe fabrication and the fire sprinkler industry.
• Experience with outlet welding, spool fabrication, and flange welding.
• Ability to identify weld defects and perform repairs.
• Welding Qualifications & Testing.
