Overview
The Quality Inspector Level I position at Stellar Energy involves supporting production in various energy systems while ensuring compliance with quality standards and regulations. Stellar Energy specializes in turnkey cooling solutions for data centers and industrial manufacturing customers.
Responsibilities
- Visually inspects all welds to applicable code standards.
- Administers welding qualification tests for new hires and production.
- Reviews Weld Inspection Log and notifies shop supervision of errors.
- Monitors and ensures WQR and WPS are utilized and qualified according to ASME Section IX or AWS D1.1.
- Verifies correct weld procedures for received pipe, fittings, and structural components.
- Confirms cross hatch pattern tightening and verifies use of Loctite on all bolts.
- Performs receiving inspections and tests required by Quality Procedures and Quality Plans.
- Documents inspection results on proper forms and files them according to company procedures.
- Verifies documents such as drawings and test reports.
- Ensures qualified personnel use measuring and testing equipment with current calibration tags.
- Witnesses procedures and documents all results, issuing reports on various inspections.
- Ensures nonconforming material is quarantined or segregated for rework, repair, or scrapping.
- Complies with SEA traceability procedures for critical materials and components.
- Checks final product dimensions for tolerances and documents results.
- Initiates nonconformance reports and communicates quality issues to other departments.
- Assists management and provides quality support as necessary.
- Prepares for ISO 9001 and other audits.
Requirements
- Visual Testing (VT) Level II certification or willingness to obtain within 6 months.
- Experience in industrial production manufacturing.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Certified NACE (coatings) inspector preferred.
- Fabrication/construction experience with mechanical equipment preferred.
- Associate degree or higher preferred.

Additional Information
- This position operates out of a fabrication facility in Jacksonville, FL.
- Work schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for 1st shift, and Monday through Thursday, 2:30 PM to 1:00 AM for 2nd shift.
- No travel expected for this role.
- This position is not approved for telecommuting or remote work.
