Overview

The Pipefitter Leader is responsible for leading a team of pipefitters and maintenance mechanics, making independent decisions within the scope of their role. They oversee trades and labor work, ensuring compliance with standards and coordinating with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of eight or more employees in the Pipefitter Shop.
• Assign work and ensure tasks are completed satisfactorily and on time.
• Advise Engineering Technicians and others on pipe-fitting and plumbing matters.
• Track compliance with the Legionella Preventive Maintenance Program.
• Coordinate purchasing efforts and hire personnel for minor projects.
• Maintain stock levels of parts and supplies for the Pipefitter Shop.
• Spot check work for quality and compliance with trade codes.
• Prepare schedules and submit them for approval to the Shop Supervisor.
• Provide updates on shop performance and concerns to management.
• Assist in writing accident reports and performance evaluations.
• Ensure accurate record-keeping of work, time, and repair costs.
• Perform preventative maintenance checks and make necessary repairs.
• Operate a motor vehicle for transportation to various work sites.

• Work Schedule: Monday - Friday; 7:30AM - 4:00PM
