Overview

The Journeyman Pipefitter is responsible for the maintenance and operations of all pipefitting duties, including the installation, maintenance, repair, and inspection of plumbing systems, kitchen equipment, medical gas piping systems, and steam systems.

Responsibilities

• Installing and operating high- and low-pressure piping systems, plumbing systems, and related equipment.
• Installing plumbing fixtures such as sinks, water closets, and drinking fountains.
• Aligning pipes, valves, fittings, and joints for accurate match.
• Installing and operating relief valves, check valves, pressure regulators, and expansion joints.
• Figuring pressures and fixture units within a system.
• Installing proper braces and supports to control movement and vibration.
• Planning and laying out the installation, modification, and repair of piping systems.
• Laying out and installing piping, risers, and flexible branches at the proper level and incline.
• Performing other duties as assigned.

Additional Information

• Work Schedule: Full-Time, Monday thru Friday 7:00am to 3:30pm.
• Physical Requirements: Incumbent works from ladders, scaffolding, and platforms.
• Incumbent must be able to wear a respirator when required.
