Job Description

Overview

As a welder in our organization, you will work under the general supervision of the Facilities Maintenance Manager. Your primary responsibility will be to fabricate, install, maintain, and repair various structures, ensuring their efficient operation and adherence to quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Execute particular welds in a professional manner and examine work pieces for defects.
  • Repair metal components to restore full functionality and safety performance.
  • Construct new installations and extend or repair existing installations.
  • Collaborate with contractors, construction workers, electricians, pipefitters, and steamfitters.
  • Inspect all aspects of job sites for safety and compliance with specifications.
  • Inspect structures for potential problems.
  • Communicate with supervisor daily.
  • Coordinate workflow with team members and third-party agents.
  • Receive and document daily work assignments and analyze blueprints.
  • Track preventative maintenance requirements and assist with maintaining equipment supplies.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent from an accredited educational institution.
  • A minimum of one year as a welder with hands-on experience in fabrication, installation, and repair.
  • Must have a valid Class C driver’s license (Texas by hire date) and maintain a good driving record.
  • Good understanding of blueprints and designs.
  • Skilled in the care and use of hand tools and power equipment used in welding.
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Proficient working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work well with all levels of management and staff.
  • Must exhibit polite and professional communications.

Additional Information

  • This is a full-time position.
  • Days and hours are typically Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
  • Hours may vary based on business needs and some weekends, evening hours, or holidays may be required.
  • Rotating weekly on-call schedule.
