Overview
The Saw Helper position at Weber Metals involves assisting various departments including Die Forge, Stock Saw, and Hand Forge Cell. The role requires flexibility and a willingness to learn different aspects of the operation, including operating saws and material handling.
Responsibilities
- Follow direction of the acting superior, leadman, and/or supervisor
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment; embrace a clean as you go policy
- Learn the fundamentals of the Saw process
- Assist with operating various saws under supervision
- Operate a forklift/manipulator under supervision
- Operate different types of cranes and lifting devices under supervision
- Perform layout with and without templates
- Apply mathematics for cutting and cutting to size
- Strap pallets and perform steel stamping
- Use vibro engraving machines and measuring devices
- Conduct tooling inspection and blueprint reading
- Deburr and repair parts
- Set up procedures on the saw
- Ensure basic part compliance
- Handle materials and move parts to designated areas
- Pack, pre-pack, and identify materials when required
- Navigate through ERP
- Demonstrate the importance of the Weber Metals Safety Policy
- Demonstrate knowledge of the Weber Metals Quality and Environmental Policies
- Work in a team environment to meet target dates
- Report to work on time with proper PPE and be fully engaged for the entire shift
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Must comply with ITAR and EAR residency requirements
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
- Minimum 90 days introductory period
- Experience in the forging or metals industry is preferred
