Overview

The DOD SkillBridge Maintenance Technician position at Altium Packaging aims to provide active US service members with opportunities to transition into the civilian workforce while performing maintenance on production machinery and facility systems. The role emphasizes adherence to safety standards and best practices in maintenance operations.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with corporate and plant safety standards and applicable laws.
• Install, adjust, and repair blow mold, trimmers, palletizer, and material handling equipment.
• Perform mold, neck tooling changes, and other equipment changes.
• Replace motors and basic instrumentation.
• Inspect and replace pneumatic and hydraulic hoses.
• Inspect, rebuild, and replace valves and pumps.
• Perform preventive maintenance on all related equipment.
• Maintain machines in optimal processing conditions.
• Troubleshoot, identify root causes to problems, and repair blow mold, baggers, and support equipment.
• Operate forklifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts, and other related equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repair on facility systems such as compressors, chillers, and HVAC.
• May operate blow mold or injection machines.
• Communicate with other departments frequently.
• Attend shift start meetings and participate in team work processes.
• Interact with contractors, vendors, and external support personnel as needed.
• Receive instructions on specific job tasks from Lead Industrial Maintenance Technician or Supervisor.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

• Basic mathematical skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Basic knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• 2+ years maintenance experience in the manufacturing industry (preferred).
• Prior welding and fabrication experience (preferred).
• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent education (preferred).
• OSHA Forklift certification (preferred).
