Overview

The Aircraft Maintenance Technician (AMT) is a critical TechOps role at Delta, responsible for maintaining the proper and safe functioning of Delta’s fleet to ensure customers have an exceptional travel experience. AMTs perform inspections, repairs, and modifications on aircraft and components according to Delta and FAA specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all work activities in accordance with established laws, regulations, standards, safety protocols, and procedures.
  • Inspect aircraft or aircraft components for damage, defects, corrosion, or other wear to ensure airworthiness.
  • Recommend replacement, repair, or modification of aircraft equipment based on inspection.
  • Report issues, malfunctions, unusual wear, or damage to appropriate personnel.
  • Install, remove, or modify aircraft structures, systems, or components following technical documents.
  • Repair worn, defective, or damaged parts or components using hand tools and testing equipment.
  • Inspect completed work to certify that maintenance adheres to standards and procedures.
  • Interpret discrepancies or logs to troubleshoot issues and identify required next steps.
  • Research, read, and interpret technical manuals and guidelines for inspections and repairs.
  • Review maintenance records to ensure service and maintenance checks were performed at prescribed intervals.
  • Maintain repair logs documenting all preventive and corrective aircraft maintenance activities.
  • Serve as a technical expert or mentor by providing advice and recommendations.
  • Use computers and technology to document and communicate information.
  • Practice safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures.

Requirements

  • Must have an FAA Airframe and Powerplant license.
  • Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
  • Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.
  • Must read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • If transferring internally, must be performing satisfactorily in present position.
