Overview
The Structure Maintainer D (Sheetmetal) position involves performing sheet metal work in subway and elevated structures under general supervision. This full-time role requires candidates to pass a Civil Service Exam for permanent status and offers a competitive salary with various benefits.
Responsibilities
- Perform sheet metal work in subway, surface, and elevated structures.
- Install, maintain, and repair roofs, skylights, ducts, leaders, gutters, and related components.
- Fabricate sheet metal, plastic, and fiberglass parts as needed.
- Perform incidental painting and other structural work.
- Load, unload, and drive trucks and vans.
- Keep records and perform related work.
Requirements
- Completion of a four-year apprenticeship in the sheet metal trade or equivalent experience.
- Three years of full-time experience as a sheet metal worker at the journey level.
- Two years of satisfactory experience plus additional qualifications such as vocational training or an Associate degree in sheet metal work.
