AvalonBay Communities, Inc. is an equity REIT focused on developing and managing distinctive apartment homes, aiming to create a better way to live. They are seeking a Maintenance Technician to enhance living experiences by executing maintenance requests and ensuring timely repairs.

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses and repairs problems in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, major appliances, carpentry, emergency systems, flooring, hardware accessories, masonry, painting/wallpaper, water features, and waste management systems.
• Completes assigned service requests and repairs in a timely manner.
• Ensures vacant apartment homes are rent-ready promptly.
• Conducts apartment Preventative Maintenance.
• Assists in painting both interior and exterior surfaces.
• Maintains a safety culture by following safety policies and reporting unsafe conditions.
• Performs Hot Works including brazing, soldering, and welding.

Requirements

• 2-3 years of experience in maintenance work, including HVAC repair, plumbing, electrical, and general maintenance.
• A valid driver's license.
• Ability to accommodate an on-call schedule in rotation with the team.
• Ability to communicate effectively with associates and residents.
• Ability to read and understand policies and procedures.
• Ability to identify cleaning and chemical supplies and understand their proper applications.
• Knowledge of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and its proper use.
• Basic understanding of emergency systems and their operations.
• Demonstrates knowledge of paint types and tools.

Additional Information

• Full-time position with 40 weekly scheduled hours.
