Overview
For over 100 years, Maguire has been an industry leader in the fabrication, construction, and maintenance of water storage tanks and elevated water towers. The Foreman: Field Maintenance/Repair Welder will perform various tasks in the welding industry while ensuring safety and quality in all operations.
Responsibilities
- Ensure that all work is performed with safety as the number one priority.
- Install and check performance/safety rigging correctly before each use.
- Interpret specifications, drawings, and communicate discrepancies to project managers.
- Repair and fabricate items using SMAW (stick) and some flux-core welding.
- Examine work pieces for defects and ensure conformance with specifications.
- Correct malformation in parts and bends in metal work pieces.
- Use painting, cutting, and welding equipment effectively.
- Lead the team to complete work on time with strong time management skills.
- Motivate and encourage others to work safely and productively.
- Maintain all equipment and service equipment as needed.
- Complete daily production paperwork and review crew’s timecards.
- Lead weekly safety toolbox meetings.
- Interact with customers in person while performing field work.
- Present and gather customer sign-off on required documentation.
- Lead field team assistants to perform required scope in a timely manner.
Requirements
- Completion of a formal apprenticeship, technical or welding degree preferred.
- 3 years of welding experience preferred or a combination of schooling and experience.
- Previous experience in water tank repair preferred.
- Must be able to pass a company weld test (SMAW required).
- Ability to travel frequently (out months at a time and multi-state assignments).
- Minimum age requirement of 21 for driving responsibilities.
- Valid driver’s license is required.
- Must be able to obtain a Medical DOT Certificate, Class A CDL preferred.
- OSHA 10 and CPR certification or ability to obtain them.
Additional Information
- Majority of the time is spent in the field and will work in unfavorable weather conditions.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
