Overview

The CNC Machine Operator I position at Klein Tools is a trainee/apprentice level role responsible for producing machined parts using CNC machines while maintaining quality and safety standards. The company emphasizes curiosity, ownership, and urgency in delivering innovative products.

Responsibilities

  • Operate drill presses, manual milling machines, CNC milling machines, manual lathes, and CNC lathes under close supervision.
  • Load and unload raw materials and parts into the machine.
  • Inspect and measure finished products using calipers, gauges, micrometers, and other machinist hand tools.
  • Compare finished products to drawing specifications to ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Maintain specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting operations and taking measurements.
  • Notify the supervisor or area lead if more complex tool or machine adjustments are required.
  • Optimize production by performing secondary work such as deburring or drilling while machines are running.
  • Keep work area clean and orderly, complying with established 5S standards.
  • Maintain a safe work environment by following and promoting company, OSHA, and EPA rules and regulations.
  • Perform other duties as required within the nature and level of work.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Experience in a machine shop environment is preferred.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand basic English.
  • Proficiency in basic math and trigonometry.
  • Ability to communicate and work as a team member.
  • Ability to use measuring tools.
