Overview

Sunstate Equipment Co. is hiring a Technician III who will perform repairs and maintenance on heavy construction equipment, emphasizing safety and employee well-being. The company values its employees and offers competitive pay and benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Perform minor and major repairs on gas and diesel engines, complex hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and drivetrains.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions and repair equipment.
  • Perform novice level welding repairs (MIG & SMAW).
  • Inspect, service, and test equipment to ensure performance to manufacturer specifications.
  • Perform routine service on equipment including checking fluid levels and changing fluids.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records on maintenance and repair of equipment.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a diesel mechanic with a background in heavy construction equipment or rental.
  • Advanced experience with major and minor repairs of hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and diesel and gas engines.
  • Experience with Tier 4 engines and DPF, SCR, DEF, and EGR aftertreatment systems is highly preferred.
  • Extensive experience performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and performing heavy equipment repairs.
  • Must have the necessary tools to perform the scope of equipment repairs.
  • Advanced understanding of schematics, computer diagnostic software, and welding methods.
  • Diesel laptop experience is required.
  • Demonstrate exceptional organizational skills and efficient time management techniques.
  • Safety oriented, maintaining industry and Sunstate safety standards.
