Overview

RTX, the world's largest aerospace and defense company, is seeking a Welder II for their Advanced Structures team in San Marcos, Texas. This role focuses on performing advanced welding operations with limited supervision, ensuring precision and adherence to established manufacturing specifications and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate proficiency in TIG welding tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Learn and operate automatic and manual welding machines according to specifications.
  • Perform cleaning operations after welding to maintain production quality.
  • Inspect and check dimensions using precision gauges and measuring instruments.
  • Learn alloy and assembly operations necessary for furnace operations.
  • Operate CNC equipment as required to complete welding processes.
  • Perform non-production welds and support specialized welding tasks.
  • Accurately read and interpret blueprints and specification sheets.
  • Complete production documentation with accuracy.
  • Support and adhere to all rules, guidelines, and standards set by EHS, Quality, and CI functions.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement processes.
  • Work extended shifts or overtime hours as required.

Requirements

  • Typically requires HS diploma or vocational/technical education in related discipline.
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
  • 1 or more years of experience reading and interpreting blueprints.
  • 1 or more years of experience with general hand and/or power tools.
