Overview

We are looking for a Project Engineer for our Westbury, NY facility to support the R&D organization by researching and solving technical problems related to thermal spray application development and product validation projects.

Responsibilities

• Formulates and executes project plans within the Coating Solution Center under limited guidance.
• Leads project activities for PVD/thermal spray application and parameter development.
• Ensures project assignments meet established technical requirements, budget, and time schedules.
• Oversees the maintenance and organization of spray test results and documentation.
• Keeps stakeholders informed of project status and maintains direct contact with sales and business lines.
• Generates project proposal activities including quotations and scheduling.
• Evaluates metallurgical coating samples and assesses coating specifications.
• Maintains adherence to internal procedures and safety regulations.
• Guides thermal spray operators and supports knowledge transfers to various departments.
• Performs other duties as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in materials science or mechanical engineering.
• 3 years job experience in thermal spray or PVD coating technologies.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Highly developed quantitative analysis and problem-solving skills.
• Comprehensive knowledge of coating technologies and techniques.
• Strong business acumen and ability to apply engineering science.
• Proficient in using business and communications software.
