Overview

The Traveling Skilled Construction Technician is a cross-trained craft professional responsible for supporting interior construction activities on various projects throughout the United States. This travel-intensive role requires deployment to project locations nationwide, performing a variety of construction tasks across multiple trades.

Responsibilities

• Perform general construction activities supporting tenant improvement, renovation, retail refresh, and light industrial projects.
• Independently execute assigned interior construction scopes based on skill level.
• Support Multi-Trade Carpenters on larger or more complex installations.
• Perform selective demolition and removal of existing building materials and finishes.
• Support installation of metal stud framing, gypsum board systems, and interior specialties.
• Perform flooring preparation activities, including patching and leveling.
• Assist with installation of doors, frames, hardware, and trim.
• Support painting, drywall finishing, tile installation, and project closeout activities.
• Read and interpret basic construction drawings and specifications.
• Perform basic layout, measurements, and material preparation.
• Load, unload, transport, stage, and organize materials, tools, and equipment.
• Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and basic construction equipment.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Follow company safety procedures and regulations.
• Execute assigned work activities under the direction of the Foreman.
• Assist with project mobilization and demobilization activities.
• Travel to project locations as required.
• Participate in safety meetings, training programs, and skill development opportunities.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Two or more years of construction, renovation, or related experience preferred.
• Experience performing general construction activities preferred.
• Experience safely using hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices.
• Ability to read and interpret basic construction drawings preferred.
• Experience working on commercial construction or renovation projects preferred.
• OSHA 10 certification required or ability to obtain; OSHA 30 preferred.
• Valid driver's license preferred.
• Ability and willingness to travel extensively throughout the United States.
