Overview

The Engineering Field Support Technician is responsible for providing expertise in the field installation of Company Products, project-specific installation of engineering design, and technical product application support. This role involves ensuring solutions to problems with products by communicating effectively with clients, sales representatives, and design professionals.

Responsibilities

• Perform job site visits and inspect field systems and project-specific engineering designs for metal roofs, wall cladding, and light gauge steel framing systems.
• Provide technical product and application support to clients, sales representatives, and other design professionals.
• Conduct system research and development, including prototyping, physical testing, and certifications.
• Responsible for inspections and reporting of field installation of various products.
• Provide technical support for corrective work needed in the field.
• Write reports on field installation and warranty qualifications.
• Provide field dimensions using 3D laser scanning and other methods.
• Assist customers in obtaining correct field measurements.
• Assist the Estimating Department and sales force with project review, takeoffs, and pricing for complicated field installations.
• Provide assistance to the sales force with presentations, webinars, and hands-on training on product installation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Possession of a High School Diploma.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of field installation supervision or experience in architectural cladding products.
• Demonstrated aptitude for problem-solving and determining solutions for customers.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to learn new concepts and procedures quickly.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet short deadlines.
• Results-oriented with the ability to work independently and within a team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications and AutoCAD.
• Valid Driver's license and ability to travel domestically and internationally by plane.
• Frequent overnight travel is required.
