Overview
The RF Test Technician III at Mercury Systems will conduct RF measurements on semiconductor components and perform tuning and problem-solving tasks. The role requires a strong understanding of engineering standards and the ability to prepare test reports in accordance with Acceptance Test Procedures.
Responsibilities
- Tune, test and troubleshoot microwave components from 20MHz to 40GHz.
- Test thermal, shock, vibration and environmental tests using various test equipment.
- Perform RF/Microwave related tests utilizing laboratory equipment.
- Set-up test equipment for testing of production hardware under minimal supervision.
- Work from schematics, work instructions, drawings and operating procedures.
- Assist engineers with new design and development activities.
- Conduct manual and automated production tests on RF semiconductor components.
- Develop an understanding of operation and parametric behavior of RF components.
- Perform occasional surface mount assembly/rework with hand soldering equipment.
Requirements
- High School Diploma.
- Typically requires 5+ years' experience in RF and Microwave component testing.
- Active clearance required day 1.
- Experience with electrical measurements including return loss, insertion loss, and gain.
- Experience with DC theory (Ohm's Law).
- Experience in following test instructions and manufacturing procedures.
- Experience working under a microscope with excellent hand-eye coordination.
- Physical hand dexterity to perform all duties needed to complete the work.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Word and Excel.
- Experience with electronic circuits fundamentals and RF measurement methods.
- Experience using lab test equipment including vector network analyzers and RF signal generators.
