Overview

The Associate Process Technician position at DRS involves operating manufacturing equipment and providing technical support in a challenging environment focused on developing infrared and electro-optical solutions. The company values performance and offers competitive salaries and benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Operate various types of manufacturing and process equipment to conduct experiments or grow custom materials.
  • Provide routine technical support to engineers and scientists on components, devices, and processes.
  • Test, modify, rework, repair, and build electronic, optical, or mechanical assemblies.
  • Work from standard wiring and assembly drawings, operation sheets, and engineering specifications.
  • Design and/or test prototype assemblies and production units.
  • Perform related manufacturing processes.
  • Interpret and follow documents such as SOPs and safety rules.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Interface with other departments to assure efficient flow of information and materials.
  • Meet production deadlines and quality standards.
  • Coordinate several activities simultaneously and reprioritize as needed.
  • Read and possibly develop wiring diagrams and engineering specifications.
  • Support and communicate the mission and values of the organization.

Requirements

  • Strong decision-making and leadership skills.
  • Experience handling small delicate components using ESD practices.
  • Soldering and wire bonding experience is a plus.
  • Experienced in the safe handling of chemicals.
  • Proficient in various computer applications, including Access, Excel, and Labview.
  • Experience with MRP is a plus.
  • Good hand and eye coordination.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Ability to obtain an active DOD security clearance.
