Overview

The Pipe Welder position involves laying out, aligning, and welding various components to assemble structural forms according to blueprints and metallurgy. The role requires a minimum of 4 years of industrial construction or maintenance experience and NCCER certification.

Responsibilities

  • Install, modify, and make repairs to pipe, boilers, towers, exchangers, furnaces, and drums.
  • Set up equipment and weld either pipe, plate, or structural steel using arc, gas-shielded arc, or gas welding equipment.
  • Work from blueprints, sketches, and specifications.
  • Produce quality work with reasonable efficiency.
  • Perform simple piping installations and repairs.
  • Assist other mechanics.

Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years industrial construction/maintenance industry experience.
  • NCCER Certified Plus.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, and repetitive motions.
