Overview

MasTec’s Clean Energy and Infrastructure Group (CE&I) is a $2 billion annual revenue business unit that provides construction services for various industrial facilities. The Combo Pipe Welder Journeyman will be responsible for joining metal components using multiple welding processes while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret project plans, blueprints, weld symbols, and other written instructions.
  • Follow project specifications and Quality Control program documents.
  • Perform various welding processes based on project needs.
  • Field install welds for structural components and piping.
  • Select proper fillers for welding tasks.
  • Prepare welding surfaces to achieve proper joint detail.
  • Assist pipe fitters with measurements and material preparation.
  • Communicate with Foreman regarding problems, materials, or hazards.
  • Work under production schedule pressure and attain set standards of accuracy.
  • Perform duties in a safe manner.

Requirements

  • 4+ years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • High School Diploma or GED Certification (preferred).
  • Knowledge of MIC Health and Safety programs and project specific regulations.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules and procedure manuals.
  • Basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
  • Ability to follow instructions in written or oral form.
  • Ability to work within precise standards of accuracy.
