Overview

SpaceX is actively developing technologies to enable human life on Mars. As a Commercial Plumber on the critical infrastructure team, you will design, build, activate, and maintain advanced manufacturing facilities while solving complex problems in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with engineers, managers, and customers to maintain systems in peak operating condition.
  • Develop and update detailed work instructions for proper equipment preventative maintenance.
  • Maintain and repair HVAC support equipment on facilities systems.
  • Perform ductwork modifications, brazing, soldering, and repairs.
  • Assemble, install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems according to specifications.
  • Perform hands-on shop work and on-site disassembly, inspection, and testing of mechanical equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with manufacturer specifications for work and materials.
  • Read and interpret schematics for assembly and repair.
  • Perform failure assessments and safety inspections.
  • Adjust and fabricate mechanical parts using hand and machine tools.
  • Present equipment maintenance statuses for critical facilities.
  • Operate various equipment including forklifts and cranes.
  • Use MS Outlook and Teams for communication.
  • Open, track, and resolve electronic work tickets.
  • Take on additional responsibilities and manage priorities with minimal guidance.
  • Ensure site compliance with applicable codes and regulations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent certificate.
  • 3+ years of professional experience with HVAC, plumbing, pneumatic, mechanical, or electrical systems.
  • Knowledge in HVAC, plumbing, electrical safety, pneumatic principles, and mechanical fasteners.
  • Technical certification, journeyman, or master in HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, or electrical systems.
  • Knowledge of high-pressure gas, flammable gas, and refrigeration gases.
  • Experience maintaining HEPA filters and AHU filtration systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Familiarity with commercial building codes.
  • Ability to read and understand technical specifications and schematics.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Good attitude, willingness to learn, and flexibility.

Additional Information

  • Second shift: 3PM - 1:30AM PT.
  • Able to lift 50 lbs. unassisted.
  • Work hours may require overtime, weekends, and holidays.
  • Periodic work in extreme outdoor environments.
  • Able to work at elevated heights up to 150 feet.
  • Must have a valid CA driver’s license.
