Overview

WSP is seeking a Process Piping Designer to join their team in Greenville, SC, contributing to projects within the Power Generation Team. The role involves developing process piping models and collaborating with engineers to ensure design quality and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Develop process piping models and equipment arrangements with minimal direction.
  • Conduct field verification on established sites and construction sites.
  • Prepare drawings using 3D CADD software and resolve design discrepancies.
  • Provide technical design assistance following standard practices.
  • Act as a consultant for work progress and problem resolution.
  • Monitor and oversee drafting and design plans for quality control.
  • Collaborate with engineers on project phases and tasks.
  • Apply analytical techniques to solve complex engineering issues.
  • Engage with clients and contractors for project coordination.
  • Provide guidance and training to entry-level staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a closely related discipline or 10+ years of equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of design/drafting experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
  • Experience with 3D modeling design using Hexagon CADWorx or Hexagon Smartplant.
  • Coordination model experience with Navisworks.
  • Proficient in drafting and design support principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of relevant codes, regulations, and compliance practices.
  • Strong technical competence in computations and calculations.
  • Ability to work independently and lead project members.
  • Experience in preparing technical deliverables with high complexity.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate with various stakeholders.
