Overview

Assembler I (2nd Shift) is an entry-level position at Arktura LLC, a subsidiary of Armstrong World Industries, located in Carson, California. The role involves assembling high-quality architectural systems under the guidance of a Production Supervisor and requires the ability to work in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform transactions in Shop-Trak to provide updates on projects, material moves, and scrap.
• Collect parts and supplies for assembly and packing processes.
• Use various hand tools for assembly and packing operations according to quality standards and safety procedures.
• Identify product defects and report nonconformances to the Senior Production Associate, Supervisor, or Quality Inspector.
• Perform reworks and repairs according to industry best practices and engineering instructions.
• Coordinate the movement of assembled parts and products to the next operation.
• Prepare, assemble, package, and label completed projects for shipping.
• Unload, receive, and store raw materials and supplies.
• Complete work to meet production and schedule requirements.
• Follow safety protocols and wear personal protective equipment as required.
• Maintain equipment and work areas, cleaning and performing basic repairs as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Basic arithmetic skills.
• Knowledge of personal computer skills.
• Communication and people skills; team player willing to learn.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment.
• Must be available to work 2nd shift schedule (1:30pm-10:00pm).
• Must demonstrate proficiency in core production roles within 90 days of hire.
