Overview
The Team Member in the Fabrication Department will prioritize safety while performing welding tasks, reading blueprints, and ensuring quality in the fabrication process. The role requires adherence to safety protocols and the ability to operate various welding equipment and tools.
Responsibilities
- Follow safe work methods and adhere to safety protocols, including PPE requirements.
- Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures.
- Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements.
- Set up components for welding according to specifications.
- Operate angle grinders to prepare parts for welding.
- Align components using calipers, rulers, and clamps.
- Weld components using manual welding equipment in various positions.
- Test and inspect welded surfaces and structures for flaws.
- Maintain equipment in a safe condition.
- Keep the work area clean.
Requirements
- Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (TIG, MIG).
- Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers, etc.).
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
- Knowledge of safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Professional Certification (e.g. AWS welding certificate) is a plus.
- High School diploma or equivalent (or in High School Trade Program).
- Desired 2 years of experience as a Welder, but will train.
- Punctual, reliable, and conscientious.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to lift 25 lbs safely and stand for long periods.
