Sunward Steel Buildings is a family-owned American manufacturer with over 50 years of experience in selling, engineering, and manufacturing custom metal buildings. The Welder role involves assembling metal components with precision and efficiency while adhering to safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Reviewing and planning work order procedures and gathering necessary tools and materials.
  • Repairing and fabricating various items and equipment using cutting, burning, and welding techniques.
  • Monitoring the welding, burning, and fitting process to prevent overheating or damage.
  • Preparing, assembling, and tack welding parts and surfaces.
  • Adhering to all safety rules, best practices, and company standards.
  • Maintaining, organizing, and cleaning equipment and work areas.
  • Reporting faulty equipment or defective materials to supervisors.
  • Performing other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Understanding of basic math including fractions.
  • Ability to read shop drawings.
  • Proficiency with tape measures.
  • Experience in welding metal components together.
  • Knowledge of installing and using consumables.
  • Ability to set up and operate welding units.
  • Tack welding experience (preferred).
  • Finish welding experience (preferred).
  • Welding certifications (preferred).
