Mesa Public Schools is recognized as one of the Best Employers in Arizona and the Best Place to Work in East Valley. The Instructional Assistant for CTE - Auto and Welding at Mountain View High School will assist teachers in instructional activities and manage routine clerical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Work in close proximity with assigned teacher and students
• Assist students, individually or in groups, to reinforce skills and/or oversee learning activities
• Assist with classroom instruction
• Participate as a stakeholder in school improvement initiatives
• Develop classroom materials to support lesson plans
• Maintain instructional equipment to ensure availability
• Perform record keeping and general clerical functions to support the teacher and/or administrator
• Regular and on-time attendance required
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

• High School education or equivalent
• Automotive Technician or equivalent work/school experience preferred
• Welder or equivalent work/school experience preferred
• Ability to work well with students and staff
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Ability to operate general office machines
• Ability to organize and prioritize and follow directions
• Ability to use own transportation to travel the district

Additional Information

• Part-time position (19 hours per week)
• Base hourly wage of $16.56
• Class/Calendar: A11, 9.25 months
• Performance pay available annually
• 1% of the base hourly rate granted for each year of verified like experience up to a ten-year maximum
• 1% of the base hourly rate awarded for an AA or higher degree if not required for the position
