Job Description

Overview

Aitken Manufacturing Inc. is a world-class leader in pressure vessel fabrication, seeking a Pipe Welder to utilize their expertise in welding a variety of materials for complex projects in the Oil & Gas, Energy, Chemical, and Processing industries. The role requires proficiency in multiple welding processes and adherence to safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Follow applicable welding procedures (ASME, AWS, AISC).
  • Weld on ground level, above ground, and below ground, in any required position.
  • Chip, peen, and grind material to prepare for welding or finish.
  • Weld structural materials such as pipe, plates, sheets, and tanks, including uncommon structural metals under close tolerances.
  • Perform gouging and scarfing as needed.
  • Pass welding test in accordance with ASME Sec. IX and conform to ASME Sec. VIII, Div. 1.
  • Keep work area organized and clean.
  • Transport material by crane as needed.
  • Adhere to all safety rules and PPE requirements.
  • Use Ransom type manipulators, overhead crane, forklift, and oxy fuel equipment safely.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED, and/or 12 months of stable work experience.
  • Must pass ASME required weld test.
  • At least three years of experience welding pressure vessels required.
