Overview

The Production Welder is responsible for using semi-automatic welding equipment to weld and fabricate various components for products, producing quality weldments on stainless and carbon steel materials in multiple positions.

Responsibilities

  • Receives instructions, prints, and work orders for the job and plans details of working procedure.
  • Joins and fabricates metal by applying appropriate welding techniques.
  • Sets up and tack welds parts with or without use of fixtures or jigs.
  • Interprets blueprints of limited complexity to ensure products meet quality standards.
  • Inspects completed welds to determine structural soundness and performs quality checks.
  • Keeps equipment and work area clean and organized, performs required PM’s on machines.
  • Makes repairs or performs low profile rework as directed.
  • Works as part of a team and assists with training of others as directed.
  • Demonstrates a good attendance record and completes goals/projects on time.
  • Follows safety procedures, protocols, and adheres to all SAFESTART concepts.

Requirements

  • Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent.
  • Ability to weld in flat, horizontal, and vertical positions.
  • Ability to complete welds in various joint configurations.
  • Basic computer skills are required; experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is preferred.
  • Ability to read blueprints at a basic level.
  • Ability to read a tape measure up to 1/16”.
  • Good math skills are required; ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
