Overview

The Punch Press Operator role involves safely operating punch press equipment to produce high-quality stamped metal components while ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Complies with all safety, DOT, HAZMAT and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Sets up and operates different types of spot welders and H-clips for steel.
  • Forms liners within acceptable quality and quantity standards as stated in the blueprints/route sheets.
  • Fits and positions product weldments using welding fixtures, jigs, and rollers.
  • Recognizes and understands the functions and capabilities of the welder and related equipment.
  • Communicates effectively with others on the assembly line to maintain production rate.
  • Completes all applicable paperwork in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Performs preventative maintenance on assigned equipment.
  • Utilizes mechanical ability, work instructions, and hand tools to complete daily tasks.
  • Maintains cleanliness and safety in work area and participates in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintains routed standards and other key job performance metrics.
  • Must be able to work scheduled overtime hours as needed.
  • Assists other departments as assigned.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Understand written and verbal instructions.
  • Read blueprints and routings and perform basic math skills.
  • Perform a variety of tasks in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Interact constructively and effectively with team members.
  • React positively to change and handle other tasks as assigned.
  • Maintain a pattern of regular and predictable attendance.
  • Detect unusual conditions or defective material and report to supervisor.
  • Have the physical ability to handle any size/weight liner with or without reasonable accommodation.

Additional Information

  • This role is on 2nd Shift (3:00PM – 11:30PM).
  • The position is located on-site at the manufacturing facility in Greeneville, TN.
