Overview

We are seeking an Industrial Insulation & Fabrication Technician to join our federal team at our York, PA location. Johnson Controls Federal Systems (JCFS) is a specialized team serving as a trusted partner to the federal government, helping to modernize U.S. military installations and other federal agency facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe, clean and organized 6S environment.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and Lean Kaizen Events.
  • Understand the criticality of proper quality-controlled documentation.
  • Operate overhead/jib cranes and rig products.
  • Review and sign timecards weekly.
  • Adhere to and promote compliance with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) protocols.
  • Work from complex mechanical, piping, and isometric drawings.
  • Produce products from prints, standard work, and routers.
  • Work with cross-functional teams.
  • Document Quality-Controlled Inspections (QCI).
  • Perform mathematical fabrication to accurately obtain values.
  • Measure, cut & fit insulation to round and flat surfaces.

Requirements

  • 2-years of experience in mechanical insulation or building trades (Preferred).
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow detailed instructions.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to maintain a clean and safe work area and/or equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret a measuring tape accurately.

  • Pay: $31.79 / per hour
  • Shift: 2nd shift (2:00pm - 10:00pm)
  • Union: This is a bargaining unit (Union) position.
