Overview
The Metal Fabrication Welder — TIG Focus position involves executing precise TIG welding to assemble fabricated metal products while adhering to quality standards and schedules. The role emphasizes organization, communication, and continuous improvement in a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Execute TIG welding to assemble fabricated metal products quickly and accurately.
- Manufacture to specification and quality standards; self-inspect and verify before formal inspection.
- Hold tolerance, follow blueprints and technical documentation, and meet schedule targets.
- Keep equipment clean and maintain fluid levels to ensure reliability.
- Return fixtures and tooling when jobs are completed.
- Resolve routine manufacturing issues; inform supervision when issues arise.
- Organize and direct your workflow; communicate effectively across the team.
- Identify setup-reduction and Lean process opportunities; communicate them to the appropriate 6S team lead.
- Use the E2 management system properly to align with company standards.
Requirements
- At least 5 years in a manufacturing environment.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Track record welding thin-gauge materials with solid penetration and top-notch appearance.
- Proficient TIG operator; knowledgeable in MIG.
- Comfortable reading blueprints/technical docs tied to machine operation.
- Capable with shop tools (hand tools, rolls) and inspection gages.
- Basic math and computer literacy.
- Organized, strong time management; able to prioritize, multi-task, and work independently.
- Continuous improvement mindset; ready to analyze, challenge, and change processes.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; self-starter attitude.
Additional Information
- Moderate noise level; PPE may be required.
- The physical demands include standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, and specific vision abilities.
