Job Description

Overview

The Welder is responsible for completing assigned welding tasks as part of a team to produce customer fabrication orders accurately and on schedule, while maintaining high productivity and safety standards. The role requires adherence to all company safety protocols and reports to the Operations Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade.
  • Perform welding on components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
  • Operate safety equipment and adhere to safe work habits.
  • Lay out, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies before welding.
  • Examine workpieces for defects and measure them to ensure they meet specifications.
  • Weld using various materials such as aluminum, stainless steel, and cast iron.
  • Select and install torches, tips, filler rods, and flux according to specifications.
  • Monitor the fitting, burning, and welding processes to prevent issues.
  • Analyze engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to plan welding operations.
  • Mark or tag materials with job numbers and identifiers as required.
  • Detect faulty equipment or defective materials and notify supervisors.
  • Clean or degrease parts as needed and repair products by dismantling and reassembling.
  • Fabricate products to match production specifications.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned to support production goals.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of industrial fabrication welding experience.
  • Ability to read and follow blueprints and job specifications.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with welding tools and equipment.
  • High School diploma or GED required; vocational school or related experience preferred.
  • Careful attention to detail and thoroughness in completing tasks.
  • Reliable and responsible, with a strong commitment to fulfilling obligations.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing work conditions and tasks.
  • Capable of working independently and managing tasks effectively.
  • Ability to pass a physical examination for vision, hearing, and mobility.
  • Demonstrated reliable work history.
