Overview
The Crane Structural Welder/Fabricator at Jensen Infrastructure is responsible for high-quality welding and fabrication of structural components for cranes and heavy machinery, ensuring safety and precision. Jensen Infrastructure, established in 1968, supports communities across several states by building essential infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality welding and fabrication tasks on structural components of cranes and heavy machinery.
- Interpret blueprints, specifications, and engineered drawings for precise welding.
- Weld and fabricate structural crane components using MIG, TIG, and stick welding techniques.
- Use fabrication tools and equipment to complete tasks.
- Ensure all welds meet industry standards and safety regulations.
- Inspect materials and structures for defects or necessary repairs.
- Collaborate with engineers and fabricators for proper fit and alignment.
- Assist in the assembly and installation of crane structures as needed.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a structural welder, preferably with crane or heavy machinery experience.
- Certification in welding (e.g., AWS or other recognized certifications) is highly preferred.
- Proficient in welding techniques including MIG, TIG, and stick welding.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols.
- Thorough knowledge of various metals and their characteristics.
- Skilled in inspecting welds for defects and ensuring they pass quality checks.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or in a team.
- Experience in crane assembly, repair, or maintenance is a plus.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
