Overview

The STW (Stabilizer Welder) Operator is responsible for setting up and operating both automatic and manual assembly lines, ensuring quality and safety standards are met. The role involves performing various tasks related to assembly, quality checks, and maintenance while adhering to company policies.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and provide a safe work area and work in a safe manner.
  • Complete Hourly checks using In Process Check Sheets and Gaging to ensure parts meet Quality Specifications.
  • Notify Team Leader of any suspect material and help to contain material line side.
  • Complete changeovers using Changeover Procedure.
  • Attach fixtures and jigs to the table positions according to changeover procedure.
  • Change out Station changeover pieces according to changeover procedure.
  • Fill in Changeover checklist to ensure all changeover steps are complete.
  • Complete standardized work in accordance to Work Instructions.
  • Remove material from boxes and place in fixture or on conveyor.
  • Move parts from machine to machine as process is completed.
  • Observe and listen to machine operation to detect malfunctions.
  • Measure and inspect parts for conformance to specifications.
  • Notify Team Leader of any abnormal or unusual condition.
  • Complete line PM’s (planned maintenance) as assigned.
  • Submit kaizen suggestions for improvements.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and operating instructions.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Additional Information

  • The employee is regularly required to stand eight (8) or more hours a day.
  • The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
