Overview

The Stainless Steel Tanker Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing repairs, inspections, and welding on specialized equipment, ensuring safe and productive operations. This role involves working with electrical components and maintaining air, electrical, and hydraulic systems.

Responsibilities

  • Performs complex inspections, conducts diagnostic tests, and performs preventative maintenance.
  • Works on specialized equipment, such as MC -306/406 tank trailers, Aluminum Trainers, and DOT407 and 412 Trailers.
  • Diagnoses and repairs electrical and hydraulic problems on equipment.
  • Assists lower-level employees with installations as scheduled and meets relevant deadlines.
  • Performs complex welding and fabrication using cutting, burning, and welding techniques.
  • Works in confined spaces while communicating with an attendant.
  • Maintains efficiencies to handle scheduled jobs within designated time frames.
  • Completes paperwork and enters data associated with equipment repair accurately and timely.
  • Follows all safety policies and procedures and maintains a clean and safe work environment.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned or needed.

Requirements

  • Broad understanding of operational procedures and tools used in welding.
  • Excellent ability to read and listen to assignments in various forms.
  • Broad knowledge of MIG and TIG welders, plasma cutters, and airless paint sprayers.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision for routine situations.
  • Broad understanding of design techniques, principles, and tools for technical plans and drawings.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, drawings, and measurements for non-routine layouts.
