Job Description

Overview

The job is for a Flux Core and MIG Welder responsible for performing welding on structural steel and fabricated metal components. The position requires reading blueprints and ensuring weld quality while maintaining a safe work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Flux Core (FCAW) and MIG (GMAW) welding on structural steel and fabricated metal components.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, shop drawings, and work orders.
  • Fit, align, tack, and weld components according to specifications.
  • Prepare materials by measuring, cutting, grinding, and cleaning surfaces before welding.
  • Inspect completed welds to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Operate grinders, cutting torches, hand tools, and other fabrication equipment safely.
  • Maintain welding equipment and keep the work area clean and organized.
  • Follow OSHA safety regulations and wear the required PPE at all times.
  • Work with supervisors and team members to complete projects on schedule.

Requirements

  • Must have previous Flux Core and MIG welding experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
  • Ability to pass a hands-on welding test.
  • Experience reading blueprints and welding symbols.
  • Knowledge of weld quality standards and proper welding techniques.
  • Experience using grinders, cutting tools, measuring tools, and fabrication equipment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
  • Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
  • Welding certifications (AWS or equivalent) are a plus, but not required.

  • Schedule: Monday-Friday from 3:30 PM- 12:00 AM. (Saturday if needed).
