Overview

The Maintenance Technician II is responsible for performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repairing machinery, and assisting with more complex repairs. The role requires mechanical aptitude and the ability to work with various tools and systems in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Preventative Maintenance regularly and maintain PM software.
  • Troubleshoot and repair basic mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical machinery up to and including 120Vac.
  • Assist Maintenance Tech 3 with repairs on more complex machinery.
  • Drive a forklift.
  • Perform basic plumbing and building repairs.
  • Use basic hand and power tools to perform tasks.
  • Utilize lock out tag out.
  • Understand blueprints and schematics.
  • Use calipers, micrometers, and various measuring tools.
  • Fabricate parts for repairs using Mills, Lathes, and drill presses.
  • Modify machines to improve function or safety.
  • Work with 240/480 volt single and three phase power.
  • Troubleshoot and repair HVAC systems and CNC’s.
  • Troubleshoot PLC systems and perform repairs plus basic programming.
  • Open and close the facility.
  • Be available for on-call basis as needed.
  • Repair production welders.
  • Repair and replace all types of motors.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Associates degree in Maintenance or equivalent from a two year tech school preferred.
  • Two to five years of related preventative maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Intermediate level in lockout/tag out procedures.
  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office).
  • Write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to understand and utilize technical information.
  • Read and understand sketches, shop orders, specifications and blueprints.
  • Read and utilize inspection and measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, protractors, ruler).
