Overview
Trident Seafoods is North America's largest vertically integrated seafood harvesting and processing company, headquartered in Seattle, Washington. The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining various machinery and equipment within the plant.
Responsibilities
- Observes mechanical devices in operation to locate causes of trouble.
- Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
- Examines parts to detect imperfections.
- Inspects used parts for dimensional changes using micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
- Repairs or replaces defective parts.
- Installs special functional and structural parts in devices.
- Lubricates and cleans parts, equipment, and machinery.
- Troubleshoots and adjusts equipment to meet performance specifications.
- Sets up and operates metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
- Sharpens and reshapes tools as necessary.
- Repairs electrical equipment with motors (24v, 120, 240, 480v).
- Repairs and replaces various types of plumbing.
- Follows plant food safety policies and industry best practices.
- Acquires knowledge of Trident’s Environmental and Safety Policies.
- Notifies personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in Production Maintenance.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Familiarity with hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems (24v, 120, 240, 480v), conveyors, metal detectors, plumbing, and vacuum pumps.
- One year certificate from college or technical school is preferred.
- Basic electrical and automation controls knowledge.
- 3-5 years' experience in production maintenance is preferred.
- Strong communication skills and ability to problem solve and troubleshoot.
- Demonstrated knowledge in various software programs such as Microsoft applications and experience with a CMMS program.
- Ability to operate a variety of hand tools including welding machines, cutting torches, and power tools.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Additional Information
- This is a nonexempt position with an hourly rate of $28.28 to $33.10 per hour.
- Full-time employees may be eligible for discretionary/performance-based incentives, paid time off starting at 20 days per year, and commuter and transit programs.
