Overview

The Traveling Welder position involves providing general construction labor tasks efficiently and safely as part of a welding team for precast panels. The role requires extensive travel and adherence to safety procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Completes general construction labor tasks necessary to caulk precast concrete panels.
  • Takes work direction from welding crew foreperson.
  • May perform work of a miscellaneous nature as directed by foreperson.
  • Uses materials/supplies in an efficient manner.
  • Handles equipment in a responsible manner.
  • Follows established safety procedures and policies.

Requirements

  • 3G & 4G Certified Welder.
  • AWS Certification.
  • Ability to carry out simple and complex verbal instructions.
  • Ability to work well with others and maintain professional conduct at all times.
  • Ability to work from ladders and aerial work platforms above 20 ft.
  • Ability to obtain membership to local Laborers union.
  • General knowledge of construction practices.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable means of transportation.
  • Ability to travel extensively, up to 50% or more, including occasional overnight travel, and to work hours outside the standard schedule as needed.
  • 2+ years of construction or manual labor experience (preferred).
  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
