Overview
The Traveling Welder position involves providing general construction labor tasks efficiently and safely as part of a welding team for precast panels. The role requires extensive travel and adherence to safety procedures.
Responsibilities
- Completes general construction labor tasks necessary to caulk precast concrete panels.
- Takes work direction from welding crew foreperson.
- May perform work of a miscellaneous nature as directed by foreperson.
- Uses materials/supplies in an efficient manner.
- Handles equipment in a responsible manner.
- Follows established safety procedures and policies.
Requirements
- 3G & 4G Certified Welder.
- AWS Certification.
- Ability to carry out simple and complex verbal instructions.
- Ability to work well with others and maintain professional conduct at all times.
- Ability to work from ladders and aerial work platforms above 20 ft.
- Ability to obtain membership to local Laborers union.
- General knowledge of construction practices.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable means of transportation.
- Ability to travel extensively, up to 50% or more, including occasional overnight travel, and to work hours outside the standard schedule as needed.
- 2+ years of construction or manual labor experience (preferred).
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
