Overview

The Fitter Welder is responsible for GMAW tack welding, torch cutting, and layout operations to assemble steel components for final welding, while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. Responsibilities

  • Perform GMAW tack welding, torch cutting, and layout operations.
  • Conduct GMAW welding processes on production materials.
  • Prioritize safety and efficiency in all responsibilities.
  • Contribute to the safety program by sharing ideas and voicing concerns.
  • Adhere to training guidelines, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Identify and address potential hazards proactively.
  • Ensure compliance with quality control standards and maintain AWS certifications.
  • Assemble steel frames through layout, tack, and final welding.
  • Operate assigned equipment with knowledge of capabilities and welding codes.
  • Handle machine setup and routine maintenance.
  • Complete job-related paperwork and data entry accurately.
  • Manage tasks independently with minimal supervision.
  • Work in elevated temperatures while dressed in layered PPE.
  • Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and other material handling equipment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
