Overview
The Fab/Welder Production Operator is responsible for safely fabricating weldments by cutting, burning, and welding steel components according to AWS standards. This role requires a high level of skill in welding operations and the ability to interpret technical drawings, with expectations for leadership and training within the team.
Responsibilities
- Safely fabricate weldments by cutting, burning, and welding steel plate, profiles, or castings that meet required quality specifications.
- Safely set up and modify programs for robotic welding operations within the department.
- Perform set-up inspections for others in the department.
- Follow Standard Work Instructions and Safety Procedures, Technical Drawings, and Engineering Notifications using industrial MIG welding equipment.
- Read, analyze, and follow LTI Production Schedule, gathering proper equipment and components to set up for welding tasks.
- Provide support and training for other team members within the department.
- Use MRP system (BAAN).
- Safely operate overhead cranes, various lifting devices, and fork trucks.
- Safely perform Quality Checks per LTI requirements.
- Safely perform daily pre-shift and end-shift duties while maintaining equipment in proper operating condition and a clean work area throughout the shift.
- Accurately and neatly complete all required production documentation.
- Complete all required training on time.
- Safely perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- A High School Diploma or equivalent GED.
- Minimum 5 years welding experience.
- Successful completion of AWS style written test.
- Successful completion of AWS D1.1 and D14.1 weld test.
- Associates Degree preferred.
- Skilled Trade Certification in related area preferred.
