Job Description

Overview

Everett Ship Repair is the Pacific Northwest Premier Ship Repair Facility, offering extensive ship repair capabilities from its Everett, Washington facility. They are seeking an Experienced Pipe Welder Journeyman to create pipe spools and other pipe system assemblies for new ship construction and repair projects.

Responsibilities

  • Weld piping spools, pipe runs, and manifolds using primarily stick welding processes.
  • Weld pipe seams in various positions for different joint types.
  • Perform welds using specific welding techniques and materials as required by project specifications.
  • Grind and prep weld seams for tacking, grinding, and final inspection post weld.
  • Set up and adjust arc welder for various welding tasks.
  • Perform Air Arc operations or grinders to back gouge welds and remove bad welds.
  • Work collaboratively as a member of a team.
  • Perform other tasks as directed.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret specifications, drawings, and blueprints.
  • Knowledge of shipyard safety practices and vessel terminology.
  • High School Education or equivalent or vocational education.
  • Basic mathematics skills.
  • Team player.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Pipe Welder.
  • 6-G ABS or USCG Certifications in Stainless Steel, Aluminum, and Copper Nickel (preferred).
  • Marine Pipe Welding Experience (preferred).
  • Ability to work overtime as necessary.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and work at heights of 60 ft.
  • Good verbal communication skills.
