Overview

The QA/QC Supervisor will lead the QA/QC Project Team, ensuring effective quality control processes and resolving quality issues across projects. This role involves hands-on leadership and real-time quality risk management for fabrication shops and field sites.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the QA/QC Project Team and coach direct reports.
  • Ensure the First-in Inspection process reduces risk and minimizes costs.
  • Audit the execution of the Project Specific Quality Control Plan.
  • Engage with the General Contractor’s Quality Assurance Manager for inspection planning.
  • Attend weekly project update meetings.
  • Review purchased products for compliance and provide input on vendor decisions.
  • Document data from quality assurance activities.
  • Prepare reports on quality assurance activities.
  • Maintain knowledge of government and industry quality assurance codes.
  • Direct technical and administrative workers in quality assurance activities.
  • Serve as the primary QA/QC contact for all projects in the assigned area.
  • Conduct routine jobsite and fabrication shop visits.
  • Ensure QC staffing levels align with project workload.
  • Mentor and coach QC staff for consistent inspection practices.
  • Lead identification and resolution of nonconformances and defects.
  • Work with Project Managers and other stakeholders for quality updates.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or equivalent from a technical school with 10 years of experience.
  • At least 8 years of experience in Quality Control focused on ASME B31 piping codes.
  • 5+ years in construction QA/QC preferred in industrial construction.
  • 3+ years in a leadership or supervisory QA/QC role.
  • Current certification as a Senior Certified Welding Inspector (SCWI) or Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI).
  • Proficient understanding of ASME Section IX BP&V Code.
  • Ability to read, write, and problem solve effectively.
  • Excellent time management and communication skills.
  • Moderate experience with MS Office and other software technologies.
  • Proficiency in English required; Spanish preferred.

Additional Information

  • Regular attendance is required.
  • 75–90% travel to project sites within the assigned geographic area.
