Overview
This position is for an Air Reserve Technician (ART) who serves as a supervisor over employees involved in the evaluation, repair, and modification of aircraft structural components. ARTs are part of the regular civil service and must maintain active membership in the Air Force Reserve.
Responsibilities
- Serve as section supervisor over employees engaged in aircraft structural assembly evaluation and repair.
- Identify, remove, and prevent corrosion on aircraft and ground support equipment.
- Inspect machines, weld, and repair aircraft parts and components.
- Design and manufacture support equipment for aircraft maintenance.
- Provide training to reservists on task accomplishment.
- Perform work planning responsibilities.
- Perform work direction responsibilities.
- Perform administrative responsibilities.
- Apply EEO/EOT principles to personnel management actions.
- Serve as technical advisor to Flight Chief on production issues.
- Ensure compliance with security directives and promote safety and health habits.
Additional Information
- ARTs receive on average one weekend of military training per month.
