The Welder Technician, Associate at Greenbrier is responsible for refurbishing and repairing rail car components while ensuring compliance with industry regulations and safety standards. Responsibilities

• Complies with The Association of American Railroads regulations and safety policies.
• Performs tasks under the direction of Supervisor and notifies them of needed materials or equipment.
• Refurbishes and repairs rail car components using various welding and cutting tools.
• Maintains tools and equipment in good working order.
• Interacts with team members and assists in training new employees.
• Maintains knowledge of The Association of American Railroads repair procedures.
• Sets up and operates metal working tools related to the work process.
• Complies with special processes based on work orders.

Requirements

• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks with attention to detail.
• Ability to use measuring equipment such as rulers and precision tools.
• Ability to work and communicate within a team setting.
• Experience with welding, cutting, gouging, inspecting, and testing tools.
• Experience with welding processes including burning, air arc, and grinding.
• Valid Driver’s License is required for positions in Modesto, CA.
