Overview
Valmont is seeking a highly motivated Structural Welder to join their Global Utility Division. The company focuses on advancing agricultural productivity and reimagining vital infrastructure to create a sustainable future.
Responsibilities
- Perform structural welding operations by fusing metal components using arc welding processes.
- Interpret blueprints and written specifications to determine operation sequence.
- Perform welding activities involving moderate safety and load requirements.
- Move pole shafts and materials using an overhead crane.
- Participate in department safety initiatives and demonstrate safe work practices.
- Learn and apply Valmont fitting processes within the first 6–12 months of employment.
Requirements
- One month of previous hands-on welding experience in a manufacturing, fabrication or professional environment.
- Successful completion of an internal welding test.
- Ability to perform basic math functions such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing.
- Working knowledge of fixturing and weld set up parameters.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent (preferred).
- Ability to read and comprehend blueprints including weld requirement symbology (preferred).
- One year of previous experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment (preferred).
